FeederWatch Cam passes inspection by Gray Jay

November 3, 2011

The FeederWatch Cam has passed inspection and is streaming live activity from the feeders of participant Tammie Hache in Manitouwadge, Ontario.

Tammie writes, “Activity here has been somewhat strange for the season.  No Pine Grosbeaks yet (they should have been here 2 weeks ago) but Common Redpolls are here (they normally arrive AFTER the Pine Grosbeaks) but they’re not visiting feeders just yet. I have about 35+ Evening Grosbeaks coming around daily and I’m thrilled to bits about that. I dearly hope they’ll spend the winter this year! Last week, we had a female Eastern Towhee visit for 2 days … a rarity at the best of times but especially this time of year!  She’s been documented by the Ontario Bird Records Committee.”

Evening Grosbeak populations are declining, but they still visit the feeders of Tammie Hache in Ontario.

The FeederWatch Cam streams live during daylight hours, allowing you to watch feeder birds even if you are stuck in an office or don’t have your own feeders to watch. FeederWatch participants can also login and comment on the activity at the feeders.
